This is the university's official site for emergency planning and procedures. During an emergency, updates will be posted here.

UB has resumed normal operations, with classes and activities taking place as scheduled.
The decision to resume classes and activities was made based on
the physical safety and accessibility of university campuses,
feasibility of re-establishing full campus services for our
residential and non-residential students and the improving
conditions throughout the region.
While the region continues to recover from this storm, it is understood that students, faculty and staff living in areas severely affected may still be unable to travel to campus.
Students who are unable to attend classes, due to weather or road conditions, should inform their professors, who will provide reasonable accommodation regarding academic work per university policy.
Affected employees should contact their supervisors.
The university will continue to monitor changing weather conditions and regional recovery efforts and will provide updates as necessary.
Students who were unable to attend classes on Tuesday, Nov. 18, Wednesday, Nov. 19 and/or Saturday, Nov. 22, due to severe weather should inform their professors, who will provide reasonable accommodation regarding academic work per university policy. The university cancelled all classes and activities on Thursday, Nov. 20, and Friday, Nov. 21; therefore, students will not be penalized for missed classes on those days.
Please check departmental websites for changes to other events and activities.
Please stay tuned to UB Alerts and this website for up-to-date information.
Do not call 911 or University Police for general information during an emergency, as this will delay response to the emergency. This site will provide new details as quickly as possible.
When conditions become so severe that the university cannot operate effectively, a decision may be made to change scheduled operations, resulting in class cancellations, early departure for nonessential employees or, in rare cases, a closing.
Timely and accurate announcements regarding changes in
UB’s scheduled operations will be made via our emergency
