The federal government funds billions of dollars in research annually at universities with the objective of generating innovations that will benefit the public good. However, translation of those discoveries into new products or services requires investment in, for example, product development, clinical trials, regulatory approval and manufacturing and distribution capabilities. This workshop will present an overview of the commercialization process from invention disclosure and patenting to licensing or startup formation. Participants will learn how UB's offices of Technology Transfer and Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships work with UB inventors to commercialize their important research discoveries.
