This workshop will describe the history, goals, and motivations for scientific communication. Attendees will learn to understand better prospective audiences, to command and retain attention, and to establish credibility. Finally, the principles of effective communication will be discussed, including how to prepare, organize, deliver and evaluate different modes of scientific communication.
