Jean Wactawski-Wende

Dean Jean Wactawski-Wende of the School of Public Health and Health Professions.

Dean Jean Wactawski-Wende is also a SUNY Distinguished Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health.

Jean Wactawski-Wende, PhD, is an epidemiologist who focuses her research on understanding factors that influence women’s health. With more than 25 years of research experience, she is currently the principal investigator of UB's Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) Center and also leads the WHI Northeast Regional Center, comprising 9 other institutions.

“Our public-health programs, coupled with health-professions programs and affiliations with other UB professional schools, make the school a valuable asset not only in Western New York, but around the world.”
