With this scholarship fund, you can help students who are interested in improving human movement.

Scholarships provide transformative opportunities for students in the exercise science program in the Department of Excercise and Nutrition Sciences — part of the School of Public Health and Health Professions. For underserved students (including those who are the first in their families to attend college), scholarships can be the deciding factor in choosing to attend UB, or being able to earn their degree.

Our vision is to improve the public’s health and well-being through our scientific discoveries, our education of researchers and professionals, and our commitment to outreach and community education.

Students in the exercise science program focus on the scientific study of how human movement influences health, fitness, performance and disease prevention. Students also gain a broad understanding of the human body, including physiological, biomechanical and nutritional factors.

Graduates typically pursue advanced professional programs, conduct clinical research or enter the workforce, working in a variety of industries including fitness, athletics, rehabilitation and other healthcare related areas, hospitality and the government.

  • Yu Named Young Outstanding Researcher by International Chinese Statistical Association

    The International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) has named Guan Yu, PhD, Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health and Health Professions, as its 2020 ICSA Young Outstanding Researcher Award. The ICSA gives the award to an early-career researcher in recognition of outstanding work in statistical theory, methodology and/or applications. Yu received his award during the recent ICSA Applied Symposium.
