CAI Artist-in-Residence, Eniola Dawodu, will speak to UB students about her creative research and explorations across costume, garment, and sculpture. Moved to release boundaries and reframe her practice with intention and attention to materiality rooted in the ancestral, she will speak to the narrative potency of ancestral African dress practices and the cultural significance of honoring one's personal truth.

For her CAI Residency, Eniola Dawodu created a new textile work, IRAN SI IRAN (2019). This piece will be featured in the second exhibition of Punctures at Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Arts Center. The exhibition will open on Nov. 22 with an Artist Talk.

ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE

The CAI accepts proposals for residencies for sessions from as short as a few days up to four months. All fields of creative art are eligible to participate. Both emerging artists and established artists are invited to participate. Companies and collaborating artists may apply.

Arts One

Arts One is a unique academic experience, designed to introduce students to a wide range of artistic performance and creative activity and to connect them to the artistic resources in the Buffalo community. Over the course of a semester, students will attend a variety of artistic exhibitions and performances both on campus in in Buffalo.
