Faculty play a critical role in inspiring and empowering the next generation of STEM leaders. Through involvement with the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) program, faculty can share their expertise, connect students with research and career opportunities, serve as mentors and role models, and help cultivate a more inclusive and welcoming STEM community.
Whether by participating in the opportunities below or collaborating with WiSE in other ways, faculty can help students build confidence, expand their professional networks, and envision new possibilities for their future in STEM. WiSE also serves as a resource for faculty, offering opportunities to recruit and connect with students and collaborate on community engagement.
How you can help WiSE
- Participate in the STEM Research Opportunity Fair
- Volunteer as a coach or judge for STEM for Everyone student presentations.
- Host a lab tour or deliver a presentation during STEM Outreach Program's Spring Campus Day to introduce high school students to STEM fields.
- Partner with WiSE on grant proposals by including WiSE as an outreach or broader impacts collaborator.
- Lead a professional development workshop to share your expertise and help students build academic and career skills.
