This program provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary overview of Long COVID, including its definition, clinical manifestations, epidemiology, regional patterns, and associated risk factors. Participants gain a thorough understanding of the condition’s diverse presentations and its broad impact on physical, cognitive, and mental health.
Learners develop practical skills in early recognition, clinical assessment, and risk stratification to support timely referral and coordinated care. The module emphasizes accurate diagnosis, prevention strategies, and individualized care planning grounded in current evidence. Participants learn to address the functional consequences of Long COVID, including fatigue, cognitive impairment, cardiopulmonary symptoms, and mental health challenges that may contribute to prolonged disability.
A strong focus is placed on rehabilitation and functional recovery through an interdisciplinary framework. The program highlights the roles of physical therapy, occupational therapy, mental health services, and social work in delivering integrated, patient-centered support. Providers are equipped to implement evidence-informed treatment strategies, promote equitable access to care, and tailor interventions to the unique needs and circumstances of each individual.
By emphasizing prevention, individualized care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and functional support, this program prepares healthcare professionals to improve outcomes, reduce long-term disability, and guide individuals living with Long COVID.
