Would your car make the grade? University Police has launched a campaign to reduce the number of auto burglaries at UB by increasing drivers’ awareness of their vulnerability to break-ins.

Linking UB’s three campuses. The university’s North, South and downtown campuses now have a transportation link with the addition of a new shuttle line and the expansion of a current line.

WBFO extending its reach. UB’s National Public Radio affiliate has received a federal grant to install a new tower and antenna that will increase and improve service to its Western New York audience.

UB’s reputation attracts epidemiologist. As a researcher who studies the connection between diet and disease, Amy Millen says UB’s reputation as a pioneer in the field of nutritional epidemiology was one of the first things that attracted her to the university.

Preserving new music. The Music Library has received a grant that will allow it to begin digitizing its invaluable holdings of experimental classical music.

Shedding light on preterm labor. A UB study investigating the basic cellular mechanics that cause childbirth labor is aimed at developing drugs to prevent the premature onset of those contractions.

Can IT cut medication errors? A UB faculty member has developed an experimental information technology intervention to help reduce medication errors in doctors' offices.

Artists bring lunar voyage to life. A 17th-century scientist’s grand plans for a moon landing are the focus of an art exhibition by two UB faculty members.

Worms reveal info about aging diseases. Research by UB biologist Denise Ferkey using crawling worms called nematodes is illuminating the role of dopamine in such diseases as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
