Mitigating power outages. As electric power returned this week to the last of the homes and businesses affected by the devastating October snowstorm, UB researchers were discussing how tiny, nanoscale sensors could make power systems far more resilient.

Symptoms may not mean asthma. UB pulmonary researchers say the airway hyperresponsiveness seen in obese patients, which often leads to a diagnosis of asthma, may be treated more successfully through weight reduction than by asthma medication.

Archives acquires three collections. UB has acquired three important archival collections that should deepen understanding of several aspects of the Jewish, medical, women's and academic history of the region and the United States.
