Lyons named Distinguished Professor. UB faculty member Oren Lyons has been named a SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in recognition of his extraordinary service.

Partners for financial literacy. The School of Management and M&T Bank are joining together to bring an innovative, personal-finance curriculum into area high schools.

Crisis in urban education. Mary Gresham, dean of the Graduate School of Education, told those attending a UBThisSummer lecture last week that the consequences of a failure to solve America's urban education crisis are too frightening to contemplate.

Scholarship for history majors. Although would-be history teacher Bryan Argo never graduated from UB, his memory will live on through the generosity of his family and friends with the Bryan G. Argo Memorial Scholarship in History.

MCEER organizes conference. Highway infrastructure will be the focus of the Fifth National Seismic Conference on Bridges & Highways, organized by the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research at UB.
