$3 million to launch UB biodefense. Rep. Louise Slaughter on Tuesday announced a $3 million federal appropriation to a UB spinoff that will allow the company to begin commercializing its powerful air sterilization device.

Addressing UN forum. Social Work faculty member Hilary Weaver spoke recently at a special United Nations forum on indigenous issues.

Welcome, new students. UB will welcome the newest members of the university family to campus next weekend with a variety of programs and activities, including some offerings designed to link incoming students to the greater Buffalo community.

Web site launched. The Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth has launched a new Web site for its "State of the Region" project that will incorporate updates on the project's performance indicators and data as they become available.
