FSEC updated on planning process

President John B. Simpson told members of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee yesterday that he plans to move UB toward becoming a great university by instituting a detailed institutional planning process. » Full Story

SEFA kickoff. UB launched its 2004 SEFA campaign yesterday with goals of raising $825,000, 100 percent participation and increased giving by UB employees.

Bush victory predicted. James Campbell, UB's "king of election prognosticators," forecasts the reelection of President George W. Bush in November.

Literary series continues. Appearances by Susan Howe, Raymond Federman and Alan Filreis highlight the Wednesday at 4 PLUS schedule for September.

The music of Ezra Pound. UB will offer a rare opportunity to hear music by American poet and critic Ezra Pound during a presentation and discussion to be held on Oct. 1.

Outsourcing aerospace innovations. Two UB geographers maintain that Boeing Corp., the only remaining U.S. commercial aircraft manufacturer, is outsourcing its technologies to foreign competitors.
