Hurd to perform first UB recital. Baritone Alexander Hurd will perform his first UB faculty recital on Feb. 17 in Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall.

Inventor honored for life-saving stent. UB faculty member Syde Taheri was honored last week at an international symposium for a device he invented that saves lives of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Architect recognized for teaching method. Shahin Vassigh has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects for her revolutionary approach to teaching the principles of structural analysis and building technology.

Tschäpe to exhibit work. The second solo show in North America of the work of German-born artist Janaina Tschäpe will open next week in the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts.
