Commemorating 9/11. UB will hold flag-raising ceremonies on the North and South campuses today as part of the second annual 9/11 Remembrance Program.

McLernons to be recognized. UB alumnus James W. McLernon and his late wife, Nancy, will be honored next week for their extraordinary support of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Abdominal fat linked to drinking patterns. How often, how much and when you drink alcohol, as well as what kind of alcohol you drink, can affect the accumulation of abdominal fat, a body characteristic shown to be an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, UB epidemiologists have shown.

"Ritos" to be performed. In celebration of Gender Week at UB and National Hispanic Month, the award-winning Spanish play "Ritos" ("Rituals") will be presented by the theater company of the Universidad de Granada, Spain, on Sept. 25-26.

Revolutionizing electronic packaging. Some of the world's most advanced research in micro- and nanoelectronic-packaging reliability is taking place in the Electronic Packaging Laboratory in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Advances in research is topic of program. Western New Yorkers will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss some of the important scientific and technological advances of our time during "Research Revolution: Science and the Shaping of Modern Life," a public program series offered weekly during October by the UB Libraries.

Statistics comes full circle as UB department. The creation this June of the Department of Biostatistics within the School of Public Health and Health Professions has brought statistics full circle at the university.

Providing a technological leg up to Buffalo teachers. The Center for Applied Technologies in Education will provide on-site, in-service training in a variety of educational technologies to more than 3,500 Buffalo school teachers during the 2003-04 school year through its "Push-In Technology Training Program."
