UB Talker provides independence to persons with disabilities.

Students in a computer software engineering class at UB are helping to solve a real-world problem, and restore a sense of independence to persons with speech and motor disabilities, by designing augmentation communication devices. » Full Story

Bruneau named director of MCEER. Michel Bruneau, a leading expert on earthquake-resistant design and retrofit of buildings and infrastructure, has been named director of the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research headquartered at UB.

UB receives 10 electric cars. UB has received a donation of 10 zero-emission electric cars that are expected to reduce pollution on campus as well as cut operating costs.

Vision researchers receive grants. UB faculty members Malcolm Slaughter and Shahrokh Khani have received federal grants totaling more than $640,000 to conduct research into the function and development of the human vision system.
