Laurie Krupski, director of the Living Well Center, leads a class in Neuromuscular Integrative Action (NIA), a martial art that incorporates yoga, tai chi, aikido, jazz and modern dance. NIA classes, which are held Mondays and Fridays in the dance studio in Alumni Arena, are a great way to reduce stress, Krupski says.



Moving towards reaccreditation
UB embarks on comprehensive self-study to win Middle States reaccreditation

The university has embarked upon a comprehensive, two-year, institution-wide process to win reaccreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the unit of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools that accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the Middle States region.

Grant to fund asthma, lupus studies

University researchers have received a five-year, $1.1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to assess environmental pollutants and their relationship to the prevalence of autoimmune disease, particularly lupus, and asthma in two Buffalo neighborhoods.
