Web offers the resources to "Think Green" at UB
At this time of year, it is difficult NOT to think green. With memories of St. Patrick's Day and the vernal equinox still fresh in our minds, and as we look forward to Earth Day on April 22, green thoughts are with us. From information on recycling, to sustainable design, to alternative energies, the Web can offer numerous resources about the greening of our society.
At the UB Web site you can visit UB Green http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/ to learn about the "Think Green" Campaign, UB's environmental programs and policies, and the environmentally active groups on campus.
The UB Green Office http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/groups/ubgreen/ubgrenofic.htm provides overall stewardship of UB environmental programs and efforts. Visit the UB Think Green Campaign site http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/groups/ubgreen/think_green.htm to learn of the campaign details and partners, including the Dymaxion Eco-House SA (plans to construct a staw-bale, passive solar test eco-house), the Spring 2000 environmental graduation pledge and the efforts of various parts of the university community toward achieving green objectives.
You can explore the UB 2025 Campus Land Use Plan, the Ride Share Program, the Buildings Conservation Contacts Network and the Green Building Design Projects by clicking on the UB Environmental Task Force Campus Projects page http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/groups/ETF/ETF_projects.htm.
For current environmental research taking place at UB, the UB Green site provides an excellent listing of 16 links http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/research/index.htm to sites for the Environment and Society Institute, Buffalo Journal of Environmental Law, IDEA (Center for Inclusive Design & Environmental Access), the Great Lakes Program and others.
Other sections of the UB Green site are worthy of your interest. Some of these include the Tallories Declaration http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/talloires.htm, UB Recycles http://wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen/recycling/index.htm and the Science and Engineering Library's Environmental Resources page http://ublib.buffalo.edu/libraries/units/sel/environ/environ.html.
