Kent State 41, UB 20

Quarterback Jose Davis completed 24-of-34 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns as Kent State University defeated UB, 41-20, in a Mid-American Conference battle on Saturday in Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio.

The Golden Flashes (2-7, 2-4 in the MAC) scored 24 unanswered points to break an early 7-7 tie and go on to snap a four-game losing streak. The Bulls (0-8, 0-7), meanwhile, lost their 12th-straight game dating back to last season and remain winless in the MAC.

Davis was red-hot in the first half as the Kent offensive line dominated the game. The senior completed 15-of-20 passes for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Golden Flashes assumed control of the game midway through the first half. The lone blotch on Davis' first half was an incredible performance by UB sophomore free safety Craig Rohlfs. Rohlfs intercepted three passes in the first half and returned them for a total of 88 yards. His third interception ended a 69-yard Kent drive in the end zone and he returned the ball 47 yards. Rohlfs now has four interceptions on the season. He also finished the game with six tackles.
