Grants put Family Medicine in pivotal role
of administration, research at new centers
The Department of Family Medicine in the School
of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences has taken a leap forward on the state
and national primary-care scene through its leadership on two new grants
totaling nearly $4 million.

in private gifts
The university received $18.3 million in private gifts during fiscal year
1997-98, the highest level of private giving achieved during calendar year
1997 by any public university or college in the State University of New
York system.
