If the photos posted as part of the FaceBook summer photo contest are any indication, UB students have had great vacations this summer.

The contest was sponsored by the UB Student Experience on Facebook, UB’s official social media site for UB student activities and programs. It was the brainchild of senior Emma Miller, a student assistant in University Life and Services. The goal: to keep students connected to UB during the summer and excited about coming back in August.

The photo that garnered the most “likes” and “shares” was deemed the winner, with the student photographer receiving an iPod shuffle. That honor went to Vaibhav Krishna with his photo of urban exploring in New Zealand.

The Student Experience also conducted a photo contest for students attending orientation sessions during the summer. Those who were photographed wearing UB gear were awarded gift cards.

A similar contest will be conducted during Opening Weekend.

Most Student Experience photos are available in albums; hi-resolution versions or photo merchandise can be found on the Student Experience’s SmugMug site.
