  • Wisniewski memorial trust established

A trust fund has been established through the ECMC Lifeline Foundation and First Niagara Bank for the young son of Jacqueline Wisniewski, the Buffalo woman who was gunned down June 13 at ECMC by her former boyfriend, trauma surgeon Timothy Jordan Jr., in a murder-suicide. The purpose of donations will be to provide funding for her son’s education.

Organizational contributions have been pledged by ECMC, Kaleida Health, UBMD and First Niagara to initiate this trust fund. These organizations and the University at Buffalo have also agreed to encourage their employees to make donations.

Persons or organizations seeking to donate to this fund are asked to visit any First Niagara Bank branch location, or the ECMC Lifeline Foundation office on the Ground Floor of the Medical Center near the front entrance of the main hospital. Checks can be made out to “ECMC Foundation/Wisniewski Memorial Trust.” For any questions, please contact Susan Gonzalez, executive director of the ECMC Lifeline Foundation, at 898-5800.

  • Libraries offer vintage prints for sale

The UB Libraries now offer selected images from their unique digital collections as posters or prints for purchase.

The idea is to make these vintage, artistically rendered images accessible to a global audience. Among the images are famous people associated with UB or Buffalo (James Joyce, Charles Dickens), Buffalo and Niagara Falls vintage scenes or graphics, advertisements for Buffalo’s Pierce Arrow plant, children’s story book lithographs, cover art from early UB publications and more.

To view and purchase images, visit the Library Store.
