Gwen Applebaum, assistant dean and director of the School of Management’s Frank L. Ciminelli Family Resource Center, has been elected to the board of directors of Leadership Buffalo.

Anna Sotelo-Peryea, resource and planning coordinator and violence prevention specialist with UB’s Wellness Education Services, was named one of five Outstanding Advisors by the Bacchus Network, a group of student leaders and peer educators on 900 college campuses worldwide that works to create healthier and safer campuses. Sotelo-Peryea was recognized for her work as a peer advisor to UB’s Men’s Group. The Men’s Group is a rape and sexual assault prevention education program, run by students and mentored by Wellness Education Services, that provides training and awareness-raising events with a focus on cultivating men as allies in preventing sexual violence. The UB Men’s Group also was named an Outstanding Affiliate by the Bacchus Network.
