Charles Patrick Ewing, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor and vice dean for legal skills in the UB Law School, has been elected president of the American Board of Forensic Psychology (ABFP). He will serve as president-elect for 2012 and become president in 2013.

Established in 1978 to protect the consumer of forensic psychological services, ABFP awards the Diploma in Forensic Psychology to psychologists who satisfactorily complete the requirements for achieving specialty board certification in forensic psychology. Ewing, a board-certified forensic psychologist since 1988, was elected to a six-year term as a member of the board of directors of ABPP in 2008.

Denise Krause, clinical professor and associate dean for community engagement and alumni relations in the School of Social Work, served on the health and human services subcommittee of incoming County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz’s transition team. Krause helped select key positions in the administration, including the first deputy commissioner of social services, deputy commissioner of youth services and the director of legal affairs for social services.

Mike Jankowski, associate director, Office of Alumni Relations, recently received a certificate of recognition from California State Sen. Joel Anderson in honor of his outstanding service “organizing exceptional programs and events” for UB alumni residing in Anderson’s district.

In San Diego to host a UB Alumni Association event, Jankowski received the proclamation from UB alumnus Jordan Marks, JD ’09, district representative for Anderson, who attended the pregame tailgate before the Bills-Chargers game on Dec. 11.
