  • ESC to hold Spring Forum

The Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC) will hold a Spring Forum from 1:30-3:30 p.m. April 7 in the Screening Room in the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

The purpose of the forum is to offer the campus community an opportunity to hear a report of the committee’s progress to date, including its major accomplishments and an update on the university’s Climate Action Plan.

Participants will have an opportunity to comment during a feedback session.

After former President John B. Simpson signed the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment in 2007, UB created the Environmental Stewardship Committee to direct the university’s efforts toward fulfilling its commitment achieve climate neutrality, reduce greenhouse emissions and off-set those that remain. Since then, the ESC created, submitted and began implementation of a Climate Action Plan aimed at reducing UB’s net carbon emissions to zero by 2030.

The ESC meets monthly; members of the university community are invited to observe.

For more information on the ESC, visit its website.
