  • The transition to online giving for the Employees Campaign for the Community (SEFA) made this year’s process easy and convenient. By not printing the Directory of Services booklets and pledge forms, the campaign was able to lower administrative costs and save trees!

  • I found that giving was easier and not as stressful by being able to perform the online donation for the Employees Campaign for the Community. I felt as if it was more personable and it is a GREEN method/effort. Very happy donor!

  • Personally, I like anything I can do online rather than on paper. I also really liked the fact that I could enter the total amount I wanted to pledge and it calculated what that was per pay period, and vice-versa. I hope that the online campaign helps to get more people to contribute; it really was very quick and easy.

  • I think that the online campaign is a great idea that fits well with the UB Green initiative and is very environmentally responsible. By going online, the university will save paper and the campaign will be less expensive to administer. With people being much more comfortable conducting business online these days, it is a perfect time to move to an electronic campaign.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your comment. To provide some information, the security of UB employees was of primary concern when we went through the online campaign transition and implementation. We had staff from the CIO, CSO's offices and United Way IT department involved with the process. We took great precaution in matintaining the security and privacy of employees.

We do realize there is room for improvement with the system and we have already begin to implement various enhancements for next year.

We welcome your feedback in making the system user-friendly and secure. Thank you for your participation.

I like the idea of transitioning to an online system, but I have to admit that I had security concerns because of the way the default logins and passwords were created. When I got the information about logging in I was horrified that no one had considered these issues before the campaign started.
