  • My favorite food served at Thanksgiving dinner is the turkey. My mom bastes it about every 25 minutes and when it’s time to eat, it is so flavorful! My second favorite is dessert. We have a family tradition where everyone brings a different pie—apple, pumpkin, coconut cream, key lime, chocolate, etc. You can’t help but sample them all!

  • Thanksgiving is a tough holiday for me because I am a gluten-free vegetarian; people don’t exactly fight to invite me over! But my absolute favorite food on Thanksgiving is yams, with all the health benefits destroyed by sautéing them in copious amounts of butter, brown sugar and pecans. Every year I have to fight off my taste-testing sisters with a spatula while I make them.

  • Homemade stuffing! My wife uses an old family recipe that is unbeatable. I usually end up eating so much stuffing that I don’t have room for the rest of the dinner!

  • Other than placing a black olive on each finger, my favorite dish is the stuffing. I can’t get enough of it. I use a family recipe that has been passed down that includes making your own bread crumbs that you cut up and let dry for five days. That is what I look forward to. I just became a Grandma, so I am thankful for Christian Jay Hansen.
