Service pins are awarded by calendar year and not academic year. Only UB service counts, whether within FSA, RF, UBF or State. State service within other agencies does not count. Time spent as a GA or TA does not count until 1994, when GA/TAs received employment status. Sabbaticals are not considered breaks, either paid or unpaid. Part-time status counts the same as full-time. Employment as a student assistant does not count towards service credit.
