Obituaries
Homer Reynolds, a longtime researcher in the Department of Oral Biology, School of Dental Medicine, died Nov. 11 in the Cleveland Clinic after a long illness. He was 65.
A native of Buffalo, Reynolds earned a BA in biology from UB.
A prolific researcher, he worked at UB for more than 30 years and published more than 30 articles in scientific journals. His research interests included periodontal disease among different patient populations, and how antimicrobial agents in toothpastes and mouthwashes affect plaque buildup and periodontal disease.
Reynolds also was an inventor, and held a patent for a new laboratory method to identify bacteria.
