Michael Pietkiewicz, assistant vice president for government relations, and Samina Raja, assistant professor of urban and regional planning, have been named to Business First’s “40 under Forty, ” which recognizes local residents under the age of 40 for their records of professional success and community involvement. They will be saluted during a luncheon Nov. 13 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

The early work of retired faculty member Sheldon Berlyn will be featured in an exhibit, "Sheldon Berlyn: Works on Paper—1960s, '70s and '80s,” that will be on display Nov. 12 through Jan. 3, 2009, in the 20th Century Finest's gallery, located in Michael Donnelly Interior Design, 1534 Hertel Ave., Buffalo. The exhibition and sale features a selection of paintings spanning three important decades of Berlyn's career. Berlyn joined the UB art department faculty in 1958 and taught painting and drawing for more than 40 years. An opening reception will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. Nov. 12.

Martha L. Salzman, adjunct assistant professor of business law, has been named to the Test Development Committee responsible for guiding the content and policies of the College Board’s College-Level Examination Program Introductory Business Law exam.
