Class Search

Students can search for classes in different ways through HUB.

Log into MyUB and click on HUB Student Center

Students should search for and enroll in classes via their HUB Student Center.

1. Select the “Manage Classes” tile.

2. Select the “Select Classes” tab.

3. Select the appropriate term.

4. Enter the class information into the search bar.

Enter specific keyword(s) for the retrieval of class(es), for example if searching for PSY 351, the search could include one or more of the following: course title (Biopsychology), Subject (PSY), Catalog Number (351), or class number (ex: 12345).

5. The search results will display results based on the criteria entered.

Search results can be filtered with criteria by clicking the checkboxes in the left-hand navigation (see second image). Click on the class for additional information.

6. This screen will display class information such as meeting information, and open seats.

Click on the “Class Nbr” hyperlink to find information such as textbooks, pre-requisites or reserve caps.

7. The ‘Class Information’ window will open. This window defaults to the “Class Details” tab. This tab will indicate the Instruction Mode.

8. The “Meeting Information” tab will provide information about the class meeting patterns.

The class pictured below is an example of an in in-person class that meets on campus Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Knox Hall. Toggle through the additional tabs to find any additional class information.

Additional Ways to Search

1. Search for courses using the “Additional ways to search” option.

2. At least one criteria must be entered to return results.

3. The search results will display results based on the criteria entered.

The search results default to open classes only. Search results can be filtered with criteria in the left-hand navigation.

Browse Course Catalog

1. Select the “Browse Course Catalog” tab.

2. Enter the course information into the search bar.

Enter specific keyword(s) for retrieval of courses, for example if searching for PSY 351, the search could include one or more of the following: course title (Biopsychology), Subject (PSY), or Catalog Number (351).

3. The search results will display any course that has the keyword(s).

Further filter the search results with the criteria in the left-hand navigation.

4. From the main “Browse Course Catalog” tab, use the “Additional ways to search” option located below the Search for Courses search bar.

Class Search by Academic Advising Report (AAR) allows students to search for classes using not satisfied requirements from their AAR. Please note: This tool does not contain all requirements from the AAR.

1. Select “Manage Classes.”

2. Select the “Search by Requirements (AAR)” navigation item.

3. Select the appropriate ‘term’ and then click “Continue.”

When brought to the “Search by Requirements (AAR)” select the “Requirements (AAR)” and then click the “Search” button.

4: Requirements from the AAR will indicate their status (Satisfied/Not Satisfied) on each line.

5. For each “Not-satisfied” requirement, click “Show detail [Term]” to see a list of courses that will satisfy the requirement.

6. The requirement will expand to show a list of courses. Select a course to view more information.

7. The course details will then be displayed.

All sections being offered for the course will be displayed along with the course status; Open, Closed or Waitlist. For more information on a section, select the section hyperlink. To “Add” a course to the shopping cart, click “Select.”

8. Review the details of the course and click “Next.”

9. A confirmation message will appear that a course was added to the shopping cart.

To continue with enrolling into the course, choose “Shopping Cart” on the navigation pane.

Learn more

Current UB students should search for and enroll in classes via their HUB Student Center. All others may use the Public Class Schedule to view available classes.

2. The search will automatically default to the “Select the Classes” tab. Click on the term to search for classes.

Search results can be filtered with criteria in the left-hand navigation. Click on the class for additional information.

2. The additional search option allows users to enter search criteria such as available subjects, catalog number or instructor‘s last name. At least one criteria must be entered to return results.

3. The search results will display results based on the criteria entered. The search results default to open classes only. Search results can be filtered with criteria in the left-hand navigation.

Browse Course Catalog

1. Select the “Browse Course Catalog” tab.

2. Enter the course information into the search bar.

Enter specific keyword(s) for retrieval of courses; for example, if searching for PSY 351, the search could include one or more of the following: course title (Biopsychology), Subject (PSY) or Catalog Number (351).

3. The search results will display any course that has the keyword(s). Further filter the search results with the criteria in the left-hand navigation.

4. From the main Browse Course Catalog tab, use the “Additional ways to search” option located below the Search for Courses search bar.

5. The additional search option allows users to enter search criteria such as Available Subjects, Catalog Number or Typically Offered term. At least one criteria must be entered to return results.

6. Selecting a course from the search results will display additional information about the course.

7. Users will have the option to view the current term schedule by clicking on the “View Classes” button.

Textbook Information Available in HUB

In compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act, available textbook information is accessible to current and incoming students via Search for Classes within their HUB Student Center (via MyUB). Within the search results, click on the class section to see course details and then click “Textbook/Other Materials.”
