Program Description

This micro-credential program helps learners by advancing content knowledge, curriculum development and instructional approaches regarding PK-12 Black history courses. Throughout the year, you will complete two traditional courses: professional development and a capstone course. Also required is attendance at and to possibly present at the annual Teaching Black History conference during the summer of your enrollment (Registration fee included in micro-credential). All courses are guided by the framework developed by Dr. LaGarrett J. King in Black Historical Consciousness (2020).
