Program Description

Our literacy coaching micro-credential program provides academic coursework and a specialized practicum to prepare literacy professionals in education with the knowledge and skills to perform the role of an elementary or secondary literacy coach. Our program consists of four courses designed to support you as you develop foundational knowledge of literacy, diversity and equity to design, implement and evaluate literacy curriculum and instruction, and demonstrate the ability to support classroom teachers through professional learning, leadership and coaching to meet the literacy needs of students.

Special Requirements

To apply, you must have at least one of the following: Three or more years of PK-12 classroom teaching experience (or equivalent) in public, charter, private, religious or independent schools or New York State certification in one or more areas of teaching (e.g., early childhood, childhood, adolescence, teaching English language learners, special education).
