SUNY Distinguished Professor and SUNY Empire Innovation Professor Amit Goyal is the principal investigator on a research project funded by the Office of Naval Research that has the potential to revolutionize the electric grid of the 21^st century.

The SUNY Distinguished Professor and Empire Innovation Professor will continue working on the engineering and physics faculties.

Amit Goyal was one of five UB faculty members to be named a SUNY Distinguished Professor, the highest faculty rank in the SUNY system.
