The specific aims of these awards are to incorporate the recognition and study of behavioral and social influences on the primary and secondary prevention of HIV into the existing and established UZ-UB HRTP Program. This is an important area of research that requires detailed and comprehensive training among various groups of researchers.

The supplements include funding for “Behavioral and Social Expertise in HIV Research Training Program” and “Planning Activities for behavioral and psycho-social science research training in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.”

This award was made possible by the continued success of the HIV Research Training Program (HRTP) and the project leaders and mentors from the University at Buffalo, Kings College London, and the University of Zimbabwe, specifically Sarahmona Przybyla, PhD, MPH, Joshua Sawyer, PharmD, from the University at Buffalo, and Charles Chiedza Maponga, PharmD, MPHE from the University of Zimbabwe.
