Biomaterials MS

School of Dental Medicine

Program Description

This interdisciplinary, research-based program is one of the few biomaterials graduate programs in the world. It focuses on the use of synthetic and natural materials in digital dentistry, implant dentistry, and biomedical engineering. Building fundamental knowledge of biomaterials science and engineering within a multidisciplinary learning environment is emphasized. This program directly integrates clinically-oriented applications of biomaterials and medical devices and promotes student-focused selection of research topics. New trends in digital dentistry are another focus area. The program offers classroom and seminar opportunities on translational research among dental, medical and engineering practitioners for the development of advances in devices and therapies in all of these fields.
