2 UB MBA Students Awarded M&T Bank Fellowships

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Scot Andrew Millen of North Tonawanda and Karen H. Woodman of New York City are recipients of the M&T Bank fellowship awarded by the MBA program in the University at Buffalo School of Management.

Established in 1986, the M&T fellowship recognizes two incoming MBA students who possess strong academic and work-experience records. Fellows receive a tuition scholarship to UB and a stipend, as well as opportunities for internships and mentorships at M&T.

Prior to enrolling at UB, Millen was co-director and an instructor for business-English programs at the CMC Graduate School of Business in Celakovice, Czech Republic, and was general manager of ACE Foods in Prague.

He also previously served as the Central Europe project manager for Cooperative Business International, an $8 million trade-development project based in Washington, D.C. Millen earned a bachelor's degree in economics, with a minor in Russian, from Ohio University.

Prior to enrolling at UB, Woodman was a senior marketing manager for integrated marketing solutions finance and operations at CYRK, Inc., a promotional-marketing agency in New York City. Her clients included McDonald's, Beanie Babies and CitiBank. She also has served as a catalog merchandiser/buyer and marketing financial manager for CVM Team in Gloucester, Mass., and as account coordinator for Chapman Direct Advertising.

Woodman earned a bachelor's degree in advertising from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
