What mentoring means to me:
As both an alumni and faculty member, I have deep experience with surviving life at UB and in academia. I was extremely fortunate to have and continue to have amazing mentors who kept me going along the way. One thing that I wished is that I had more mentors who had experience with being a mom in academia, especially in navigating pregnancy and postpartum while still in grad school. I'd love to meet graduate students and postdocs and help them to navigate these issues in their own lives.
