What mentoring means to me:

To me, mentoring means having someone serve as a witness to your professional and personal growth and development. Mentoring also involves a mentor helping a mentee navigate professional situations to be as successful as possible, helping a mentee identify goals to attain and creating plans on how to achieve them, and supporting them in being their authentic selves within educational and professional settings. Mentoring also involves a mentor sharing their own educational and professional experiences with a mentee, so that their mentee can benefit from both the mentor's previous successes and struggles. Ultimately, mentoring is an investment and commitment.

Topics I am willing to discuss with students:

Personal Experiences

  • Experiences related to being a woman.
  • Experiences related to class and/or socioeconomic status.
  • Experiences related to racial, ethnic, cultural and/or religious minority status.

Other Topics

  • I have been involved in activism and organizing work here in Western New York since 2016, so I am happy to help mentees process and make meaning of social justice work they are either involved in, or preparing to become involved with.
