Working With the Institute

The Community Health Equity Research’s Mission is to perform research to advance understanding of the root causes of health inequities and develop and test innovative solutions to eliminate health inequities in the region, with a focus on inequities experienced by African Americans.

To facilitate achievement of this mission, the Institute invites University and community researchers to utilize the resources to develop comprehensive and mission-oriented research/grant proposals through the Institute.

Prior to Submission: The lead investigator should submit the following to the Steering Committee for final review.            

 
 

Provide an overview of the proposed research project to include: How will this project address or attempt to mitigate the underlying social determinants of health?

a.    Design and methods
b.    Population of interest and why
c.     Outline process of engaging community in developing/implementing the project
d.    How will this project contribute the improvement of health outcomes, health equity, social justice, and/or the built environment in the regional community
e.    Describe how this project builds on your current research trajectory
