Use this step-by-step checklist to ensure you are prepared for Commencement and get ready for your big day.
In order to graduate and receive your diploma you need to apply for graduation.

Go to your HUB Student Center and apply for graduation online before the application deadline date. Once your application has been received, your degree status can be found in your HUB Student Center in the Academic Progress tile.
If you are no longer enrolled at UB, but are still planning to graduate, you must apply for graduation online before the deadline. The application can be submitted as early as one semester before your last semester at UB.
Expected Graduation Term
|Summer||July 15||August 31|
Graduates need to register in advance to participate in their ceremony; registration is separate and different from applying for graduation.
Registration, and other details such as ticketing, vary by ceremony. This information can be accessed, after the ceremony schedule is finalized, by visiting the Ceremonies page of this website and clicking on your ceremony listing.
Be sure to pay your outstanding bills. Diplomas will not be released if you have an outstanding financial obligation to the University. You can view any holds in your HUB Student Center in the To Do tile.
Graduating students who are participating in their commencement ceremony wear academic apparel (cap, gown, hood and tassel). Information will be available on the Cap & Gown page of this website.
