Chong Cheng Laboratory

Reseach in the Chong Cheng Laboratory focuses on developing general methodologies for the preparation of well-defined functional polymer-based biomaterials, which can further serve as scaffolds for biomedical applications, especially drug and gene delivery. Cheng's lab has developed a variety of novel biodegradable biomaterials, including brush polymer-drug conjugates and zwitterionic polymer-drug conjugates for drug delivery, cationic polylactides for gene delivery, and cationic nanocapsules for drug-gene co-delivery. Cheng has recently created new biomaterials for dental applications, tissue engineering, and protein delivery.
