Research Expertise

Vascular Mechanobiology and Oxidative Stress: Dr. Alevriadou’s expertise lies in vascular endothelial mechanotransduction (signal transduction due to fluid shear stress), free radical (reactive oxygen species) and calcium signaling, and mitochondrial biology. In general, understanding the role of the mechanochemical environment on cellular/molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases (atherosclerosis, ischemia/reperfusion injury, inflammation, thrombosis, diabetes).
