Open Wide features selections from the Collection of Morton G. Rivo, D.D.S., UB School of Dental Medicine class of 1957. An exhibition of over 70 prints, drawings, photographs, and artist’s books related to the practice of dentistry, from early woodcuts by early European masters and satirical Victorian engravings to 20th-century works that explore the commonly held notion of dentist as sadistic inflictor of pain, Open Wide explores dentistry as an art form.

Exhibition organized by director Sandra H. Olsen and UB’s Museum Studies graduate seminar students and interns.

This exhibition and catalog received generous support from UB’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Dental Medicine.
