Why do the changes matter?

The new ADA Title II regulations are about more than legal compliance. They reflect UB's shared commitment to making sure everyone can fully access and benefit from our programs, services and activities.

While putting these changes into practice will take time, effort and resources, the investment directly supports UB’s core values of access and equity. These regulations also help create a stronger foundation where both UB and our vendors take accessibility seriously—something our campus community has long advocated for.

Accessibility isn’t something we achieve once and move on from. It will be an ongoing effort. When we approach accessibility as a continuous commitment, we make it easier for more students, faculty, staff and visitors to fully participate in all that UB offers. By providing accessible digital content, we not only meet our legal obligations, we build a more welcoming and inclusive campus.

Ultimately, accessibility is about people. Behind every barrier is someone eager to learn, contribute and belong. By embracing both the letter and the spirit of ADA Title II, UB strengthens its mission as a public institution dedicated to serving every member of our community with dignity, respect and opportunity.
