Gift to help fund engineering building. A $500,000 gift from Ravinder and Pratibha Bansal will be used for costs associated with the construction of a new engineering building on the North Campus.

Using technology to help the community. The School of Management and the Not For Profit Resource Center are joining together to help local community service agencies via an innovative new educational technology.

Less fun than a barrel of monkeys. A 19-year study by a UB anthropologist has found that some primate tourism practices are proving to be deadly for infant monkeys.

Selenium may increase risk of diabetes. Selenium, an antioxidant thought to have a possible protective effect against the development of type 2 diabetes, may actually increase the risk of developing the disease, an analysis by UB researchers has shown.

The art and meaning of stories. UB faculty member Bruce Jackson spoke about the complex role of storytelling in everyone's lives during yesterday's UBThisSummer lecture.
