Major repairs needed for townhouse

While many spectators who watched the world's largest seismic test on a wooden structure conducted at UB on Nov. 14 probably thought the house held up well, a close examination of the damage told a different story. » Full Story

Film named to national registry. "Drums of Winter: Uksuum Cauyai," a 1988 documentary about Alaska's Yup'ik Eskimos co-directed by UB faculty member Sarah Elder, has been added to the prestigious National Film Registry.

Red Priest to perform. The extraordinary English ensemble Red Priest will kick off the Department of Music's Spring 2007 concert season with a performance on Jan. 19.

Audiences set lineup for films. The 14th edition of the Buffalo Film Seminars will open on Tuesday with a lineup of films that has been determined by the series' audiences.

Focusing on cocaine dependence. A $1.6 million federal grant awarded to researchers at UB's Research Institute on Addictions is funding new research geared toward reducing anxiety and craving associated with cessation of cocaine use over the short-term, and reducing cocaine dependence over the long-term.

Hallwalls to screen Koebel's films. "Shots and Cuts: Films by Caroline Koebel," a screening of experimental short films by UB faculty member Caroline Koebel, will be presented by Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center on Jan. 18.
