Dunn testifies on health care plan

UB's senior health sciences administrator told a state Senate hearing on Monday that the Berger Commission's recommendations on health-care facilities offer an opportunity to create a health-care deliver system that will ensure the highest-quality health care to patients and the highest-quality training for health-care professionals. » Full Story

Effects of national trauma on health. A study by psychologists at UB and the University of California-Irvine has found that people's gender and ethnicity predicted their immediate response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and their general state of health over the next two years.

Prestigious scholarship. UB student Peter Rizzo is the first UB student to receive a prestigious Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship.

Gene function in butterfly wings. The UB team that developed the world's first transgenic butterfly now has developed an innovative tool that will allow scientists studying "non-model" organisms to test directly the function of certain genes, even in the absence of genome sequencing information.
