Four candidates emerge for post of medical school dean

Four candidates for the position of dean of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will meet with members of the UB and local health-care communities during campus visits scheduled during the month of June. » Full Story

Wellness works. Start-up data from an innovative $1 million demonstration project being coordinated by the School of Public Health and Health Professions suggests that if the organization you work for is concerned with wellness, it may affect how healthy you are.

"666" superstitions explained. With June 6—6-6-06—approaching, UB anthropologist Phillips Stevens explains that fear of the number, long believed to be the mark of Satan, are based on a "widespread misinterpretation" of the chapter in the "Book of Revelation" in which the number is discussed.

Police power to be debated. Scholars from throughout the United States, Canada and beyond will come to UB June 10-11 to examine the broad topic of "police power" during a workshop hosted by the Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy.

Batta receives national honor. UB engineering faculty member Rajan Batta has received the Institute of Industrial Engineering Fellow Award.

Gift to fund pharmacy community efforts. UB alumna Margaret McGlynn is following her late father's lead and honoring his memory with a start-up gift to establish the Edward J. Hempling Community Pharmacy Education Fund in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
