Searches for key positions under way

The searches to fill three key leadership positions at UB are under way, with search committees in place and a consultant hired to assist in the process. » Full Story

Gill named head football coach. Turner Gill, who was part of three national championships as a coach at the University of Nebraska and a Heisman Trophy finalist as a player, has joined UB as the university's 23rd head football coach.

Studying sudden cardiac death. Researchers in UB's Center for Research in Cardiovascular Medicine have received a $1.85 million federal grant to study the role of abnormal cardiac sympathetic-nerve function in sudden cardiac death.

Pelham helping Japan with ADHD programs. UB researcher William Pelham Jr. is consulting with mental-health experts and physicians in Japan who are developing the first programs in that country for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Social Work names associate deans. Three faculty members in the School of Social Work have been appointed associate deans.

Diversity services expanded. Student Multicultural Affairs has a new name and expanded services designed to promote the appreciation and celebration of cultural differences.
